This is my band.

We are doing quite well at the moment, considering we have only been our current line up for half a year. The ball was set rolling almost 2 years ago though, by me and the singer.

We sound like: Indie/Rock/Reggae/Ska. We officially categorise ourselves as Indie-Ska Fusion.

Our line up is mostly standard - Chris on vocals and acoustic guitar, me on Lead Guitar, Mickey on Bass and main backing vocals, Andy on Saxophone and shoutyness, and good old John on the drums.

We release our first EP "Beneath The Spire" in a month and a day. Oh yes.

There's some stuff in the pipeline that is really good, but I cannot officially talk about it. Just letting you know.

Our EP release party is in exactly 4 weeks.

I've made some rough calculations, and I estimate we will make £700-900 on the night.

This is what you would call semi-pro, or to put it another way, the band makes enough money to support itself, but not enough to support ourselves. (Yet.)

Anyone who tells you that you can't make money out of music is either ill-informed, or bullshitting. At the end of the day, if you're talented, determined and professional, you will make money, and you will go far. End of. It helps if you play decent music, too.

We were also in the NME last week. It was literally just one word in a gig listing, but dude. New Musical Express.

it kinda reminds me of a band here called captain squeegee and the soap suds, in that it's got ska all over it but it isn't constrained by that.

That was my idea for the title, BTW.

There's a new song on the EP called Sun Up Come Down, which is more representative of the songs we are writing at the moment, and the direction we will be taking musically in the next 6 months. Ithankyouverymuch.

We're supporting Finley Quaye in September, and we've sold over 400 tickets for our EP launch.

Our EP got to number one in our local singles chart on the week of release. Bitchin'.

Just played 3 gigs over the weekend, am utterly caned.

The gig on Saturday was mental. Mosh pits, nakedness, sweat, play fighting, singalongs, shoutalongs, beer EVERYWHERE.

Interesting stuff for us possibly happening in the near future. Again, this is top secret until it happens.

We don't have a gig for another 5 weeks. I don't know how I'll cope.

I'm getting a kind of Zutons vibe (does your sax player have long legs?) and that's not a bad thing if you can do what they do live.

A lot of people compare us to The Zutons, which I'm pretty happy about. Our Sax player has normal legs, I think. He's not as fit as that lass from The Zutons, though.

That gig is in Sheffield. We are currently 4 weeks and 50 tickets away from selling it out. This is a very big deal. Signed bands rarely sell out this venue, never mind an unsigned group of yokels from a satelite town singing about getting pissed and what have you. Good times.

Normal legs!.....is there such a thing?
The Zutons are ace...haven't seen them since T in the Park a few years ago but they were one of my festival highlights that year.

Good luck with selling those 50 tickets...if I were closer I'd grab one.
